Järmönja - Iron Oxide Pigment
Ottosson Färgmakeri Järmönja
Järnmönja is hematite (iron oxide compound), which is a naturally occurring soil pigment
Pigments have a special ability to counteract the formation of rust on iron as the pigment's structure resembles fish scales that lay down like an armor pattern. In combination with linseed oil, this makes it very difficult for water to come into contact with the iron. The pigment has the advantage of not being harmful to health and therefore replaces the toxic lead as an anti-rust pigment.
The pigment is fully lightfast and suitable for all color types and painting techniques. It also has a strong covering ability and can also be used in a water medium, e.g. mud color.
The pigment is included in the standard color "Järnmönja"
