For glazing and bedding glass in both wood and metal sash and doors. Ready for use and for easy application under the knife and thumb. A modern glazing compound that remains elastic. Allowing for normal expansion and contraction. Adheres to all glazing surfaces, forming a permanent watertight bond between the glass and sash.
Coverage: One gallon of putty will cover 336 linear feet
Priming + Painting: If priming before applying Sarco, it is recommended to use an oil based primer. After Sarco has skinned, it may be painted with oil or latex paints.

Should I apply linseed oil to wood window before applying glaze?
Yes, linseed oil can be applied but Sarco Putty Company does not recommend priming.

Can this product be tinted using the same colorants used to tint acrylic paint?
As long as they are iron oxide based dry pigments then they will blend in well without effecting the product.

For the dual glaze putty, do I need to mix with water or just use as it is? Also how long does it take for the glaze to be set and hardened before painting over it? I have a metal window in front that some glazing are gone so it can work metal as well as wood with glass?
This product is used as it comes in the container, there is no mixing required.
Wait until strong enough skinning on top of glazing has formed, usually about 2-3 weeks for Dual Glaze and at least 14 days for TYPE M, depending on the temperature. -
Is this acceptable to use in old, steel schoolhouse type frames with stained glass? We are pricing a job and need to remove existing glazing, re-paint frames. Thanks so much!
